Besides her dominant presence in fashion, Ms. Prada has a whole other list of achievements. Upon graduating from the University of Milan with a Ph.D. in political science, she trained to become a mime at the Teatro Piccolo. Furthermore, she was a member of the Italian Communist Party and a pivotal figure in the Milan women's rights movement during the 1970s.
Ms. Prada's hard work of expanding her household's corporation into an internationally acknowledged trademark has not gone disregarded. In 1993, Miuccia achieved the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) international award for her work in designing various different accessories. In 2013, she was awarded the International Designer of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards. A year later, in 2014, Forbes recognized her as the 75th most powerful woman globally.
In the end, Miuccia Prada has truly been an inspiration to all up-and-coming designers, as she proved that one can achieve success through simplicity, even in fashion. Her presence remains emblazoned in the world of fashion, even today, and her brand is pivotal in shaping modern modeling, silhouettes and of course, fashion.
